wire armature

New figures in the making. Kids are off to bed and I am making wire armature for new spun cotton figures.

Think I will take a break, watch New Girl, knit and have a glass of wine.

Happy Tuesday night!

spring bunny

Out picking easter eggs or maybe a few flowers

morning walk

I took Dash out for his walk this morning. Same old streets, houses and front yards. Same as yesterday and the day before and before that again and ...
So to make it a little more exciting I looked at the plants in the front yards we
passed by. There are so many beautiful plants and patterns that the leaves or branches
makes.

This tree/shrub was packed with blue flowers. Love the winter blooming trees, should
make a note to plant one like this in my yard!

Beautiful ferns

and rows of ferns

I love the pattern this round soft shrubs makes.

Don't know what trees these are, does anyone know? Amazing mounds of
yellow flowers. I have seen them in the summer without flowers, the leaves are
grey/sage green. They are very nice trees what ever their names are.

My favorite, a naked tree with beautiful branches.

Now off to work on some projects! Have a nice day.

warm winter

We had thick fog the other morning. You could actually see the water in the air, It looked like fine snow. By the time I took Dash for his morning walk the fog was starting to burn off. I saw the tree in the photo on my walk to the coffee shop. It looked massive and dark, quite a powerful contrast to the soft fog. I loved it. A fairytale tree.

The weather has been great lately. It does not feel like winter at all. I managed to get rid of an incredible amount of dead leaves and branches in the yard. It made me feel so fortunate to be able to garden in January. Our vegetable planter box was full of weeds and debris. The strawberries I planted last year does not seem to mind the neglect it has received and had a tiny little white strawberry and a couple in the making. It made me happy to see this small little gnarly berry under all the clover and dead leaves.
I removed all the junk around the plant and will make sure to give it some fertilizer to say thank you.

having lunch with my guys

The kids favorite place to have lunch.... Speederia Pizza in San Carlos.
Celia and I sat outside with Dash
Adel and Oliver on the inside of the window

Dash was shamelessly begging for pizza. He knows we can not resist him. Sure enough he ended up with the crust. Not sure what he does with his face but he makes himself look as cute as possible and stares us down.

work in progress

Finally some rain! And lots of it :) Today was the perfect day for knitting, felting and sculpting.  Lots of fun. I spent the morning hours knitting and drinking coffee with friends, what a treat. Thanks Becky! Since the weather was so wonderfully bad I had the excuse to stay inside and continue crafting throughout the day!

The spun cotton bunnies and bird received a coat of paint, tomorrow they will get dressed. I also got a chance to finish a felted mouse for Celia. Now I am moving on to tackle a knitting pattern I do not quite understand..

One of those great days!

Today was one of those days when you know you should be doing something useful, instead you do the opposite. Do you ever have any of those days?
I had a wonderful time though. Spent the day in San Francisco. Met friends at Citizen Cake on Fillmore St., stopped at a bookstore in Japan Town. Bought a sewing book with great patterns. Cant wait to try some of them. Stopped by Union St. before I rushed
back to San Carlos just in time to pick Celia up from school.

spun cotton bunnies

Time for bunnies. This time out of cotton batting. A little different from needle felting. The two of them needs a coat of paint and the girl needs a dress.

Cliff House on a foggy day

We had breakfast at the Cliff House last Friday. The fog was so heavy that the air was filled with misty rain. We sat by the window and looked out at the ocean.  It was beautiful in a sad green-grey way. We were warm and so happy inside.

Happy New Year

New Years Eve at Henriks Torp.
